The practices of Psychotherapy and Counseling both utilize a healing relationship with a therapist, or counselor, to develop self-understanding, and to make positive changes.

Counseling works to address specific problems in the present tense. My approach to counseling is solution focused--meaning that together we may explore your personal strengths to identify how to you might utilize those strengths and capacities to overcome current challenges.

Psychotherapy is beneficial in helping us resolve recurring patterns that are unsatisfying in our lives. This might be recurrent patterns of anxiety or depression, struggles in relationships, addictive behaviors, trauma, or intergenerational issues. Psychotherapy helps us to identify how underlying issues may be impacting our current functioning and how to develop new possibilities for ourselves. Psychotherapy sometimes utilizes a variety of sources of information from the Conscious, and the Unconscious Self. These include dreams, the body, art, writing, music.

By providing an integrated approach, I can support you and your family in meeting current life challenges, and work together to heal underlying causes of discomfort in your life.
